THE BROOM REVOLUTION IN CROSS RIVER STATE

The Executive Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Hon. Emmanuel Ishabor on Saturday 5th June 2021 arrived at his hometown, Igodor, in Nkum Iborr ward, to formally register with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Community witnessed a large turnout of Party supporters and leaders as they chanted solidarity songs and cheers.
This is as the APC Leadership in the Local Government Area have long awaited this day following Governor Ben Ayade‘s defection to the APC and as a Local Government that believes in the Leadership of the State, we have to do the needful to key into the Governor’s agenda for the State”, Hon. Ishabor said.

The Executive Chairman said the Governor has stated clearly that he needed to align the State with the centre for the overall good of the State.
Hon. Ishabor also acknowledged that Cross River State is known for always playing Politics with the centre. Since 1999, former Governor’s Donald Duke and Liyel Imoke all played politics from the centre, Ayade was the only Governor from the State who has played opposition for Six years now and he feels it is time to align with the centre for the benefit of the State.

” Ogoja people are loyal and humble people, they were loyal to Governors Donald Duke and Liyel Imoke, so it is only natural that for our Local Government Area to enjoy the much-needed development, we must follow the Governor to the APC to also benefit from the centre, as He believes, the remaining two years of Governor Ayade’s administration will attract the needed development from the centre to the State.

Hon. Ishabor gave assurance that APC will win all the elective positions in his Local Government Area in 2023 general elections in view of the Governor’s defection to the ruling party and him, on his part remain committed to this course and will deliver a hundred per cent for the APC in 2023.

A high point of the event was the Handover of the APC flag to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Ishabor, as the Leader of the Party in the Local Government Area, by the Interim Chapter chairman of the Party, Mr Epas Mgbado.
